Five airlines provide regular daily service to the Bloomington airport, which is the sixth fastest growing airport in the nation. AirTran Airways offers non-stop, roundtrip DC-9 jet service between Bloomington and Atlanta with connections throughout the South and the Southeast (three flights per day Monday-Saturday and two flights on Sunday). Northwest Airlink provides service between Northwest's Minneapolis/St. Paul and Detroit hubs, which in turn provide connections on Northwest Airlines to domestic and international destinations (three flights between Bloomington and Minneapolis/St. Paul Sunday-Friday and two flights on Saturday; three flights between Bloomington and Detroit seven days a week). American Eagle provides service to O'Hare Airport in Chicago with connecting flights on American Airlines to destinations throughout the world (four flights seven days a week and a fifth Sunday-Friday). Trans World Express provides flights between Bloomington and St. Louis with connecting flights to all of the destinations served by TWA (five flights seven days a week and three additional flights Sunday through Friday. United Express provides service between Bloomington and Chicago's O'Hare Airport with connections to all destinations served United Airlines (four flights seven days a week). The airport is less than fifteen minutes from campus and taxis are always available.

An Amtrak station is one block from the University. Amtrak has three trips daily between Bloomington and Chicago and three trips daily between Bloomington and St. Louis, where connections to other stations throughout the country can be made.

Bloomington is readily accessible from several directions via interstate highways. As noted above, three interstates intersect at Bloomington. Interstate 39 runs north and south, connecting with Interstates 80 (east-west) and 90 (east-west) in northern Illinois. Interstate 55 runs north and south connecting Bloomington with Chicago and St. Louis; in both cities it connects with several other interstate highways. Interstate 74 runs east and west, connecting with Interstate 80 at the Illinois-Iowa state line and with Indianapolis to the east, where it hooks up with several other interstates that run east and west and north and south.

There is a $3 per day flat fee for on campus parking on Thursday and Friday. Parking is available at no charge on Saturday and Sunday. For those who stay in the residence hall, parking in the residence hall lot is free.
