Sessions will be held in three kinds of rooms, most of which are located in Stevenson Hall on the Illinois State University campus.  Each kind of room is equipped differently and presenters will be assigned to rooms according to the kinds of equipment that they and those attending the session will need to have for a successful session. The only room outside of Stevenson Hall is Capen Auditorium, a short walk across the campus quad,  where the plenary sessions will be held. The equipment available in each kind of room is as follows:

Lecture Halls: These rooms are ideal for presentations to large groups (250-400). They offer IBM compatible and Macintosh computers with internet access, data projector, DVD, video cassette recorder, audio cassette player, audio CD player, lighting control, and slide projector, wireless microphone, and 16mm projector. These rooms have internet access.

"Smart Classrooms" Stevenson Hall
(30-45 seats per room): These rooms, which have Gateway Destination XTVs installed, are ideal for presentations to smaller groups (25-30). The Destination offers a combination of TV, theatre, digital media, gaming system and full-featured PC based on a 333MHz Celeron processor with 64Mb RAM. The system as installed includes a 36" monitor, built-in DVD, external VCR, Mac compatibility, additional external A/V inputs including an S-video input, a front USB port, a wireless keyboard, Internet access, and Microsoft Office, including Powerpoint. All rooms have internet access.

Classroom/Labs (18-26 computers per room): These classroom/labs have instructors' computers and computers for use by individuals attending the sessions and are ideal for sessions requiring hands-on participation by those attending. Although these rooms have various configurations, a typica; configuration includes computers with processing speeds of 266 MhZ or higher, LCD projectors, Zip drives,  Microsoft Windows 98 SE, Microsoft Office 2000 Professional (Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Frontpage, Access), Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0, Netscape 4.7. All rooms have internet access.

A room with networked computers will also be set aside for convenient access to e-mail and for presenters to work on their presentations if they choose.
