Old Books and a Collective Research Project in a Re-focused Survey Course: Global Knowledge in Eighteenth-Century France

John R. Iverson

NOTES

1. “The purpose of the Perry Summer Research Scholarship is to encourage faculty to recruit and employ continuing students to join them as collaborators in their professional scholarship; research undertakings that will often lead to a paper, a book, or a creative work of some type. This will allow for a rich learning opportunity for students to gain first-hand knowledge of the methods and challenges of sustained scholarly work.”

2. In a second iteration of this project, I will certainly allow more time for the design and actual installation of the display. But even with a more lax approach, the exhibit was both informative and visually attractive.
