By Plane

The Central Illinois Regional Airport hosts American, Delta, Allegiant, and Frontier Airlines. You will connect to Bloomington from Chicago O'Hare, Detroit, Minneapolis, Dallas, or Atlanta. The flight from the Chicago O'Hare airport can be as brief as 25 minutes. Use airport code BMI as your destination. The airport has limited (to no) dining options, so plan on taking the shuttle to the Marriott and eating in Normal (just a 10-15 minute drive) if you arrive hungry. Advantageous about the Bloomington Airport's small size is that you will not need to arrive two hours before your flight departure, as is the case in most large airports.

More Good News: The Bloomington-Normal Marriott Hotel offers complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport. Call their concierge service to schedule your pick-up. The number is: 1-309-862-9000. You can also find a direct phone to the hotel while in the baggage claim area of the airport.

By Train and Bus

The following bus and rail providers all have stops within the Uptown Normal area, which is a major transportation stop between Chicago and St. Louis. Also keep your eye out for the Illinois High Speed Rail, which might be finished by August of 2013.

Amtrak
Megabus
Burlington Trailways
Peoria Charter

By Bicycle

Bicyclists and pedestrians can utilize Bloomington-Normal’s Constitution Trail, which cuts directly through the center of the Uptown area. Bicycle racks are located throughout the Uptown area. Bike rental is also available if you would like to take a nice ride while in town. Please contact Katherine Ellison at keellis@ilstu.edu if you would like a map of the running and biking routes for Constitution Trail.

By Car

Three major interstate highways (I-55, I-74 and I-39) converge in Normal, giving it great transportation access across the central plains. Normal is also on historic Route 66. We are about a two hour drive from downtown Chicago, two hours from St. Louis, and three hours from Indianapolis.
