How I Drive you to Drink.

Lauren Lubas

My bed:

a space

of cleansing,

of waste

and pleasing.

My heart:

darkness

and red waste

and green want

and black taste;

enraged by nothing

walking over something

--you--

with blatant greed

murderous want,

and alcohol need.

I stomp my foot

for attention

and break the vase

because you for-

get to mention

how beautiful

I am today,

And the dance

of crystal

cubes soaked

in gold

Old No. 7

is your last

hope for chance
