the wild approach

Rob Parrish

entities jostle from side
to side, a trinity of figures.
soft placement of bodies against
time,

contorted as humans, breathe
in the aroma of dying
flowers and consume
spirits.

wipe head of six days' work
with trembling fingers and
just-built oceans.

the wild approach to a concept
with tongues that dangle
like dead insects in untraveled corners,
hide and seek of the mind.

come out of the darkness
and praise in barefoot ascension.

what was that
going off the high dive?
a crucifix,
scurrying past darkness.
