Departmental Resources

  • Faculty/Staff Commons - The Commons is a central repository for departmental forms and documents and also offers a collaborative work space for online meetings.
  • Digital Reserve - The Department offers faculty a password-protected digital space to securely hold scanned documents and other materials for classes they teach.
  • Department Calendar - Major Departmental events and deadlines are posted on the Calendar.
  • University Academic Calendar - University events are posted on this calendar.

Help with Software and Teaching

Faculty have access to the CAS-IT Web Services (formerly LILT) which offers assistance for using web-based and other technology for teaching and research.

Faculty also have access to the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology (CTLT), a unit of the university that provides services for  teaching development, basic computer application training, and a variety of pedagogical issues.

Milner Library

Through Milner Library, faculty can reserve articles, inter-library loan materials not owned by ISU, and gain access to electronic texts and databases. Milner Library offers a variety of online resources for teachers, see their website for details or contact Jean MacDonald, the English Studies Librarian.


CAS Documents and Forms

The College of Arts and Sciences maintains a Documents and Resources collection for documents relating to the budget and planning process, college committees, ASPT documents, department governance documents, strategic planning, the faculty mentoring program, the college Ombudsperson, support for research, Awards programs, etc.

Faculty can also get the assistance of Classroom Technology Support Services (CTSS), the University unit responsible for equipment support in teaching classrooms, laptop checkout, clickers, and distance learning classrooms.

University Services for Student Assistance

  • Julia N. Visor Academic Center The Visor Center offers tutoring for most general education undergraduate classes. In addition, they also offer one-on-one writing assistance for any course and a variety of workshops to promote students' academic success. All of the Visor Center's services are free to ISU students.
