The New Directions in English Studies Conference is a yearly event sponsored by the English Department and organized by our graduate students. Held in the late winter or early spring, the conference features presentations by graduate students in all areas of the department. Many of these presentations are versions of papers that they have presented or will present at national conferences.
The New Directions Conference highlights the range and variety of different research undertaken by our Department's graduate students and offers a chance for a powerful interaction of different perspectives and approaches on the issues that drive research in English Studies.
Beyond sharing research, the Conference also provides opportunities for graduate students to consider their professional future, with panels of faculty members discussing career options for those engaged in graduate work.
