The Post-Baccalaureate Graduate Certificate in the Teaching of Writing in High School/Middle School is available only to those already certified as middle school or high school teachers. The courses taken create opportunities for full-time high school and middle school teachers to develop and enhance their expertise in the teaching of writing in their classes. High school and middle school teachers in any discipline with an interest in studying current theory and practice in the teaching of writing are encouraged to apply for admission to the Certificate program.

International students are required to submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The minimum TOEFL score required is 100 (internet-based testing), or 250 (computer-based testing), or 600-603 (paper-based testing).
