Illinois State Writing Project

At the ISWP, we believe that our enjoyment for writing and for teaching can be contagious, and we watch with glee as our students learn to enjoy writing, to learn about their subjects, to use it to communicate their ideas, and to change the world around them.

We welcome teachers of all subject areas and all grade levels to join us for our Summer Institutes and year-round workshops. If you have a passion for writing and for teaching, we want to meet you!

We recognize that writing is both serious, as our participants to the left show as they take part in a teaching demonstration during the Normal Summer Institute, and fun, as the above group shows during a Writing Crawl during the Summer Institute in Peoria.

Come join us as we work together to share writing with each other and the students in our classes.

Or invite us to lead a few In-Service Workshops for the teachers at your school.
