For teachers of writing at all levels

Each participating teacher, with one-on-one assistance from a member of the TC Board, demonstrates a writing lesson developed for use in the classroom to other teachers at the Summer Institute. Participants also read current research and literature, write in journals, take field trips, eat and laugh often. The Institute helps teachers see themselves as writers and equips them with ideas for incorporating the use of writing in their classrooms.

Each participant is awarded materials, graduate credit at Illinois State University, and a stipend. Applications are accepted via online application.
