RIP English 351 1995-2010
I began teaching English 351 in 1995. Over the years, each section has been a variation of the material you see here with a fundamental focus on creating websites. Over the christmas break of 2010, I decided I had to refocus the course, moving away from the idea of creating websites and moving towards managing websites and digital publishing and the issues of content strategy. In this new version of 351, "Creating and Managing Online Content in a Web 2.0 World" students work both with CMSes and with handcrafted web pages, they analysze users and information structures. There currently is no website for that course because it is still too new. This site remains online as a homage to 15 years of hard work and as a record of the marvelous websites students created in the class. Future classes may make use of specific pages from this site (and particularly the archive of student work), but not the syllabus or the assignments.
