Mary Livermore (1850 - 1905)

During the Civil War, Livermore worked in hospitals, was a correspondent for numerous journals, wrote books, edited her husband's newspaper, and was the only woman reporter at Lincoln's nomination. After the Civil War she was active in both the temperance, suffrage, and abolitionist movements.
