ISU Alum Named to CAS Hall of Fame

The Department of English is proud to announce that Bruce E. Scher, who received his Bachelors and Masters of Science Degrees in English from Illinois State University, has been named to the 2010 College of Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame.

Induction into the College of Arts and Sciences Hall of Fame is an honor bestowed on current, past or honorary members of the arts and sciences community. Hall of Fame inductees are selected from nominations submitted by alumni, friends, faculty and staff and are approved by the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences.

Bruce E. Scher is the academic dean and director of college counseling at Chicagoland Jewish High School. He has over 30 years of experience as an educator and college consultant in the public schools. His educational experiences range from teaching English, Spanish, Hebrew, reading and humanities to gifted education and adult education. He has conducted instructional workshops locally and nationally and has been a speaker at national conferences. He has also served as a supervising and cooperating teacher with Illinois State University and Northern Illinois University.
