Faculty Member & Alum Honored at 2012 Computers & Writing Conference
Congratulations to Cheryl Ball who received the Technology Innovator Award at this year's Computers and Writing Conference.
The award is presented by the Committee on Computers in Composition and Communication to honor an innovator in the Computers and Writing community -- "a person who has pushed the field regarding excellence in teaching, more rigorous scholarship, and deeper levels of service."
Congratulations as well to Department of English alum Deborah Balzhiser (PhD, 2003) who received an honorable mention in the Kairos Best Webtext of the Year competition, an award that recognizes excellence in born digital scholarship. Dr. Balzhiser's webtext, "The Facebook Pages" which was co-authored with Jonathan D. Polk, Mandy Grover, Evelyn Lauer, Sarah McNeely, and Jon Zmikly and 26 undergraduate student contributors, is an exploration of how social media can be used in first year writing classrooms.
