Co-editers Katherine Ellison and Holly Faith Nelson are pleased to announce the publication of Digital Defoe's Fall 2011 issue. "Eighteenth-Century Studies and the State of Education" features an exciting range of voices working across media, institution types, and topics to examine the present and future of this disappearing discipline in higher and secondary education.
Pay particular notice to a feature article by doctoral candidate Beth Zold, who has written a thoughtful and also somewhat alarming piece about how high school literature textbooks are representing the period's texts and culture. Anonymous peer reviewers found it to be of the highest quality.
Also, a special thanks to doctoral candidate Kristi McDuffie, who is our Editorial Assistant this fall. Kristi walked into the issue at its most hectic stage of production and, with grace and professionalism, immediately offered tremendous help.
