Department of English at Illinois State University

University Award Recipients Recognized

On Thursday February 17, I had the honor of representing the English department at the annual Founder's Day Convocation (http://illinoisstate.edu/foundersday/), part of a day long series of events that celebrate Illinois State’s heritage and traditions and honor the accomplishments of faculty, staff, students and alumni.

I was particularly proud that two of our our colleagues, Dr. Carol Lind and Erin Frost, were among the people on stage being recognized. Dr. Lind received the Category 2 Outstanding University Teacher Award, which recognizes excellence among our instructional faculty, while Erin Front, a Ph.D. student, received the Level 1 University Graduate Teaching Award, which recognizes excellence in instruction among doctoral students.

More information about their awards is available on the CASNews website (http://cas.illinoisstate.edu/sites/casnews/2011/01/24/2943/).
