Assignments for English 384:

Students will write five sets of from 1-5 responses to the readings, to be posted to the course webboard (click on "Webboard" button at the right to establish an account). Note: there will be six sets of questions posted, but students are required to respond to only five sets--students can skip one week's assignment, at the student's discretion.

The webboard responses should consist of about 1,000 words each week. Students can choose whether to write five short responses of 200 words each, or any combination of essays totaling 1,000 words.

There will also be a formal paper (8-10 pages for graduate students) on a topic of the student's choice related to the course readings.

The formal paper will be due on August 12.
