Minor in Writing

The Minor in Writing requires 24 hours of English courses. Courses taken for the Writing Minor may not count for the English Major.

Course Requirements

• 6 hours selected from ENG 227, 246, 249
• 6 hours selected from one of the following areas:
• Creative Writing: ENG 247.01, 247.02, 247.03, 347.01, 347.02, 347.03, 348
• Rhetoric and Composition: ENG 145, 243, 244, 248, 283, 391, 392
• Technical Writing: ENG 349, 350, 351, 353
• 9 hours of electives in Writing, which may include any of the above courses, ENG 398 and up to 6 hours in writing courses from COM 165, 166, 265, 268, 269, 321, 385
• Completion of ENG 396

Please note that these requirements are for the 2010-2012 course catalog. Students enrolled under prior catalogs should check with one of the English Department's Academic Advisors for those requirements.
